Introduction

I’ve taught College Composition around Columbus for 11 years. My truest avocation is to further a poetry which explores the intersections of our evolving interpersonal, ecological, and political selves in western culture and cultivate a poetry of engagement and access in a broadening literary community.

Education

Ashland University, MFA in Poetry Writing (2013-2015), Ashland, Ohio

I studied a wider range of contemporary poetics, focusing on craft and publishing. I also initiated, through an alternative Paris residency, a currently continued visitation and love for French culture and its influence on modern and post-modern literary traditions. My creative thesis was a book-length collection of poems titled American DƩcor.

Miami University, MA in Poetry Writing (2008-2011), Oxford, Ohio

I took advanced coursework in literary theory, teaching pedagogy, and poetry craft; was awarded a two-year teaching assistantship and runner up in The Academy of American poets undergraduate award. I produced a book-length creative thesis titled, A Man Needs His Vegetables, available on the Ohio-LINK.
